About Cat Allergise

Out of all the pets people have in the world, the cat is without a doubt one of the most loved. Just because they are a great pet, many households can have several cats. Unfortunately, many people all over the world suffer from allergies caused by their cats. Most estimates show that allergies to cats is one of the most common allergies that inflicts mankind. Humans worldwide could definitely do without allergies to cats.

If you have an allergic reaction to cats, it is very important that you find a cat allergy cure that works great for you. There are many different options that can be found locally as well as online. You don't want to have to get rid of your cat completely as a last resort.

Allergies to cats are produced by only two things: saliva and dander. Dander is the dead skin cells that shed off of cats as well as most other warm blooded animals. Dander is released in small flakes, it can be very similar to dandruff on humans(which is nothing but a specific name for dander on our heads). Itchy skin, and other symptoms of cat allergy, are caused when the proteins in the dander and saliva get into a person's immune system. Once inside the body of a human the allergens will be perceived as a threat to the body. All allergies are caused by substances that modern sciences does not show to be a disease or a threat, but your body will respond to it in much the same way.

Cats can have five or more different types of allergens that can b released by their body. These allergens can also be located in the blood and urine of the cat. Even if the cat has not been present for a long period of time the allergens in these bodily fluids can still be harmful to your healthy. This is why you can still show symptoms of cat allergy even months after the cat is no longer living in your house. If you are allergic to pets it is important to clean your house regularly in order to avoid a reaction to trapped allergens.

It is a myth that humans are allergic to cat hair. There is nothing adherent to cat hair itself that may incite an allergic reaction. However, cat hair easily traps the allergens released from other parts of the cat. When a cat grooms itself it rubs saliva, a allergen, into the hair which also glues dander onto it. When a cat sheds the the dander that is attached to each hair is released into the environment and can then cause allergic reactions in people. Unfortunately the way cats groom themselves is a naturally instinct, and no matter what you do you cannot make it stop grooming itself-even if you wash the cat yourself. However, if you do bathe a cat regularly it will remove many of the allergens stuck in the cat's hair, which will help your situation greatly.
